The Bhairavi grouping, Dha–Ga emphasis and 6–9 AM window follow Tanarang. Todi-like phrase movement distinguishes it from simply altering a Bhupali scale. Notation: r/g/d/n = komal; m = shuddha Ma; M^ = tivra Ma; apostrophe = upper octave; comma = lower octave. Phrase treatment, not the note list alone, identifies a raag. These are introductory outlines; phrases, ornament and tradition give a raga its identity.
