Classical roots. Cinematic soul.
OUR APPROACH

For the song.
For the curious ear.

A listening companion for discovering the classical ideas inside the songs you love.

Discover, then follow the music.

Browse songs by raga, mood or traditional listening time. Every published association has its own review status and reference. Our purpose is to make these musical connections easier to find and discuss.

Sources you can follow.

The starter catalogue draws on musicological discussions by George Howlett and David Courtney. We store brief factual metadata and write our own introductions, with links to the original research. A source citation is not an endorsement by its author.

Curated, and open to correction.

Music traditions contain variation and debate. Scale outlines simplify a richer practice. When a song strays from a raga’s grammar, we make room for that in the classification. Signed-in listeners can suggest corrections and follow an editor’s response in their library.

Listening belongs on your platform.

We do not host commercial recordings or lyrics. Checked track links open the selected recording; clearly labelled search links let you choose a version. Availability and subscriptions depend on the listening platform and your region.

A note about the imagery.

The sitar photograph is original AI-generated editorial artwork. Geometric raga cards and vinyl symbols are our own interface graphics, not official album covers.
